White Safaga.

White Safaga takes its name from the Red Sea coast, and it is the stone to reach for when a project has been asking for an imported white. The ground is genuinely bright rather than off-white, and the veining is silver-grey and linear — cool where most Egyptian stone is warm.

It is the closest thing in the Egyptian catalogue to the white-and-grey marbles specified by habit from other countries, with the supply advantages of a working Egyptian quarry region behind it.

Because the vein has direction, it rewards planning. Consecutive slabs from one block can be book matched into a mirrored pattern or laid in run so the vein carries across a wall; split the same quantity over two blocks and that continuity is gone.
